Starfly is a freelance design business which
is owned and run by Mik Hamilton. Mik is an experienced designer
with an excellent track record for designing and managing
projects from brief creation to completion for blue chip clients such
as Samsung, McDonalds, Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys. This experience enables Starfly to offer a
complete retail design service including surveying, design management,
store design, fixture & system design, drafting and visualization.
Mik
has extensive manufacturing
experience working with a wide range of materials and process,
including sheet metal, vacuum forming, plastic extrusions, injection
moulding, cabinet work and welded assembly.
Prior to setting up Starfly, Mik was a Senior
Designer within DSG International and was responsible for managing and
delivering new store concepts, refits and initiatives. These include Dixons Travel , franchise stores
for Currys Ireland and concept stores for Alpha Retail and Nuance.
Before this, as Design Manager for WP Display,
Mik set up and ran the in-house design department. He was
responsible for the daily management
of
the
design
office,
outsourcing,
installation
of
display
systems and
POS to retailers such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, WH Smiths & Toys ‘R’ Us.
His
ability to deliver successful design solutions comes from a
mix of technical experience, creative flair and a real desire to
create, innovate and excite.
